A sealant backing cord is available in various diameters. Cordex is waterproof and compatible with joint sealants such as silicone, polysulfide, polyurethane, butyl, bitumen, and acrylic sealants. It requires no bond breaker between the cord and the sealant. With high flexibility and excellent recovery capacity, Cordex provides a permanent secondary seal behind the joint sealant. Its hourglass cross-section cell structure ensures uniform stress distribution, maximizing bonding at high-stress areas.

Cordex is utilized in various types of expansion joints as a backer for joint sealants or caulking materials. It is suitable for vertical joints and elevated horizontal joints in concrete, brick, or metal constructions. Additionally, Cordex is used in copings, doors, curtain wall construction, and pre-cast units, and it can also be applied for piping in the furniture industry.

• Shrinkage: Less than 5% at 70°C for 24 hours
• Temperature Range: -10°C to 70°C
• Water Absorption: 5% of volume after 24 hours
